I some times wonder if I chose the wrong profession. Maybe I should have been an architect, a pilot, or possibly a chemist. I love design, travel, and experimenting. But alas, I hate math. So I’m a musician. This way I can count to 4, and start again….

Pressure Cooker Baked Potatoes
Some times it’s the simplest things that are the best. What can beat a baked potato with butter, salt and pepper? Adding cheese and sour cream is a great treat. How about some crumbled bacon? Or that tiny amount of leftover chili? Or even better, some jalapeño cheese dip!
Pulled Pork
Some times the simplest things go unnoticed, fly under the radar. Just think how pleasant a chair beside a lake is, or the smell of autumn leaves, or the sight of winter’s first snowflake. Pulled pork is so easy that it’s hard to find a recipe in any cookbook.
Hot Buttered Rum
During these darker, chillier days of autumn and winter, “comfort” seems to be on every one’s mind.
- Crockpots replace charcoal grills
- UGGs replace flip flops
- Afghans replace beach blankets
- Snow shovels replace flyswatters

Maple Pecan Granola
Most of us have quirks, idiosyncrasies, peculiarities, oddities, eccentricities, foibles, and whims. One of mine is that I do not like milk on my cereal. Please don’t expect me to eat soggy cold cereal, or drive away the steam of hot cereal by pouring milk on it. Gross!
Pork Shoulder Roast with Garlic and Herb Aioli for Pressure Cooker
So, this may be my newest addiction. I can’t seem to get enough of it. I’m sure there will be dozens of ways to serve this pork – fried rice, breakfast scramble, on a salad – but so far, I can’t get beyond straight out of the pan.

Summer Sangria
The best place to enjoy evening, in my book, is the screened porch. I can feel all the fresh breezes, watch swans on the lake, hear the birds and frogs, and not be bothered by mosquitoes.
Buttermilk Waffles
I love antiques, vintage items, primitives, heirlooms, collectibles — whatever you want to call them. Anything that has seen life, and has been part of a story, finds a special place in my home.
Crockpot Grass Fed Beef Arm Roast with Onions and Garlic
Being raised, grazed, and nourished in the fresh country air with plenty of exercise and natural food means the meat is leaner, more nutritious, and has a much richer taste than fat-laden store-bought beef.
Minnesota-style Manhattan Clam Chowder
I can’t help it. Even though I have flown through JFK many times, I have never been to Manhattan. Any time spent on the East Coast was when I was very young. BUT I have wonderful memories of making friends in Maine, eating fresh seafood every day, and Dad coming back with huge stories after spending a day on a lobster boat. My take-away from that trip? CLAMS. Steamed, stewed, or chowdered. Clams are the best.
