A color, taste, and texture party made with humble green beans
Ingredients

- Green beans – 2 steamer bags, or 6 cups fresh beans trimmed
- 1 shallot, finely diced
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 3 Tbsp pure maple syrup
- 2 Tbsp light rum
- 1/4 tsp ginger
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1/4 cup chopped dried tart cherries
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans
Instructions
- Clean green beans, cutting to desired size
- Sauté finely chopped shallot in olive oil
- Stir in the syrup, rum, ginger, salt and pepper, let it simmer for a few minutes to reduce
- Steam green beans in steamer basket on the stove, or in microwave, for about 5 minutes
- Toss beans and glaze together with cherries and pecans
- Cook Time: 10 minutes
