Homemade Swedish Filmjölk
One thing I desperately miss about Sweden is being able to walk out of the grocery store with a carton of filmjölk in my hands. Filmjölk is similar to kefir, but has a little more zip and zing. It is basically cultured milk — beneficial bacteria is added to milk which makes it taste tangy, … Read more Homemade Swedish Filmjölk
Classic Egg Bake
So, it seems like “trending recipes” are all the rage. Not on this food blog!!! Seriously! Who are the people that conjur up these new trends? People without a normal life?
Fresh Sausage Egg Bake
June — Weddings. Graduation parties. Vacations. Family reunions. A few more weddings. And then — BABY SHOWERS. Yes! So many fun celebrations fill the month, and make it fly by quicker than 30 days of any other month.

But I can point to a cold and rainy day in the summer of 1970 as we were driving through the Danish countryside. We stopped at a bakery for cocoa and a treat, and the warm, sweet, suffocating smell of pasteries overwhelmed me. End of story.
Orange Julius
My guest chef for the week is Gabby. She is the sparkliest, sweetest, smartest, funnest girl I know. Gabby is also an excellent sous chef. The crowning glory of our dinner was the refreshing orange julius.
Berry Lemon Oven Pancake – Gluten Free
As a child of school teacher parents, summer vacation means TRAVELING. That is precisely what I am doing right now, and this post marks the beginning of my Guest Chef summer series.
